New College of Sciences Announced
NC State will replace the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) with a broader, more comprehensive College of Sciences, Chancellor Randy Woodson reported at the April 20 meeting of the Board of Trustees. The move comes after a careful, yearlong review of academic science programs by a diverse university task force supplemented by additional campus feedback.
The new college will include the physical and chemical sciences, the mathematical and statistical sciences, earth system sciences, and the biological sciences. As part of the realignment, the undergraduate biology program will move from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to the College of Sciences.
